Masks

There are people who patrol the streets, mostly at night.  They often wear disguises.

They are the RLSH, and they wear masks.  But guess what?  You do too.

We all wear masks.  Everyone.  Different masks mean different things to different people.  Some wear a mask so they won't be identified for doing good.  Others wear one for the same purpose, but for avoiding incarceration.  While others still, to keep their identities secret for fear of retaliation.  Some people wear masks so they WILL be noticed.

But is a mask always a piece of leather or plastic strapped to one's face?  No.

For some people, an expensive suit is their mask.  A way to show the world, "I am important.  Why else would I dress this way?"  Is he REALLY important?  Or does he realize that, by wearing his suit, people will view him as such because, 'Important people wear suits'?

The same goes for the girl wearing name-brand EVERYTHING from head to toe.  She's telling the world "I'm a better person than you.  Look at me, I'm stylish and people LIKE me."  When she goes home, does she have any friends?  Maybe she puts out this image to hide the fact that she's a horrible, selfish person with NO friends.

A man shows up in a relatively rural area for a family reunion.  Amid the old, beat-up pickup trucks and utilitarian Jeeps and older '80s and '90s sedans, he drives up in his new Porche 911 Carrera 4GTS.  This guy is showing how rich he is as compared to his less-well-off family.  Everyone is wearing jeans, t-shirts, caps with Case IH logos, and HE'S got on his polo shirt with a sweater tied around his neck, and khaki shorts with sandals.  A Porche.  May as well be a solid gold helmet.

Some will wear vests with skulls and fire embroidered on the back.  With slogans and state names to proclaim their 'territory'.  Everyone who sees them riding their motorcycles will instantly know where they stand on certain issues.  Group affiliation is yet another mask, for the truth is, this man is a dentist with his own office and a family of four.  Or perhaps a lawyer or doctor.  How else could he afford a brand new bike?  Maybe he dresses like this because he is insecure and a self-loather and this image makes him feel tough.  Maybe he's a drug dealer.

For some, their career is their mask.

What better way to show everyone how much you support people's rights than to become a policeman and arrest those who violate those rights?  Or is she hiding behind a badge and a gun because in reality she's afraid; terrified of being a victim of the criminal element?

What about the judge who's hearing your case?  An honest, fair man.  A man who believes in enforcing the laws and rights of humanity so much, he has taken up the mantle of justice itself.  He is the savior of society because he has the power to cast wrong-doers into prison forever.  But what does he do in his spare time?  How many DUIs has he used his name to avoid?  How much child porn will you find on HIS hard drive?

We're ALL hiding SOMETHING.  Everyone wears a mask of one kind or another.  What does YOUR mask hide?

Easy Target

It's SO easy to hate.  To forgive is the REAL challenge.

The RLSH make HUGE, easy to find targets.

They stand out in front of the world and say "We are here to help.  To stop crime.  To put ourselves in harm's way and protect the innocent."  But MOST of them don't.  Most of them don't really even go out on 'patrol'.  Some are young and frightened.  Others just like to play the 'hero game'.  Some think of it as a 'D&D' style, publicly interactive role play.  And that's fine.  But don't make the claim if you ain't played the game.  Of the few that ACTUALLY go crime spotting, most will not get directly involved.  They see 'suspicious activity', --I.E. a couple of guys hanging out, probably talking-- they call the Five O and make a report, and eventually blow everything out of proportion by saying on Facebook, "I stopped a whole GANG by myself!!"

I call 'bullshit'.

This is what makes them great targets.  They put these fantastic claims out there with little or no evidence.  They seem to have forgot that 'Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof'.  When they don't have the proof -- and all their friends will back back them up with guess what?  No proof -- we come down on them with right hand of doom of truth.

Bango!!  (yes BANGO)  Easy target.

It's SO EASY!!

It's TOO easy.

Too easy to hate them.

But I forgive them, for they know no better.

And that's the point isn't it?  To look BEYOND.  To see PAST the easy target.  To rise above.  To be BETTER than them.

It becomes very limiting to use the rlsh for the basis of your work.  To revolve EVERYTHING you do around their downfall, is akin to only eating the grape Skittles.  There is SO MUCH more to do.  Truths are being hidden everywhere.  Exposing a hero's folly is fun, but it becomes monotonous after a while.  You tell them "I caught you in a lie".  They have no counter and reply, "Oh yeah, well... well... YOU'RE A TROLL!!".  Typical.

Exposing the BIG lies is where the GOLD is.  It takes a TON of work, but the payoff is WORTH the work.  I have several projects going currently.  From Big Brother using the HAARP station to cause Japan's recent earthquake to draw the world's attention away from our present economic collapse, to the government breeding Deet resistance mosquitoes in order to drive up the price of insecticides.  I've been workin'.  And there will be more to come about these and other subjects.

In the betterment of ourselves, we must strive to see the trees,  as opposed to the forest.  We must move past, and forgive.  Those who do things to "help" mankind will inadvertently be it's undoing.

Is that OUR fault?

No.

Are we HELPING the situation?

No.  MLOL

But bringing to light the REAL injustice is what the discovery of the 'Forth Estate' is all about.

I think I've found it.

A Little Story.

I have a little story.  For you, my One, and only follower.

A while back, I was bored.  Pretty bored.  I thought to myself, "I know what I'll do.  I'll make a fake Facebook profile as a RLSH". (Real Life Super Hero, for anyone else who reads this)  And that's what I did.  A fake profile.  "Now, I'll need a fake name.  A name that sounds cool, but it has to be kind of obtuse.  Not like 'The Masked This or That', but memorable.  Something that stands out".  And that's what I did.  So would be the birth of 'ZERO'.

"Oh what's this?  Facebook won't let me USE Zero as a name.  A first AND last name... Zero Ekks.  Nope.  Ekks Zero.  Nope.  Ok, I see how it is.  Gonna hafta get ridiculous, huh?  Ok.  TheMan NamedZero.  SUCCESS!!  Now I need a pic.  Hmmm... Can't use one of ME.  Google.com/images...  Maybe a skull...?  There's a cool one.  Even says Zero on it.  Sweet.  (later I found out it was a skateboard company logo... oops.  Oh well...)  Ok.  New profile, new name, new pic.  Nice.  Now to start making "friends" and messin with people.  MLOL"

I friend requested a few "heroes" and began shooting the bull.  Soon I had friend requests out the wazoo.  Almost too many to keep up with.  Apparently these guys SWARM on any new prospective recruit to their cause.

Then I got an 'inbox'.

"You need to change your name.  There is already a Zero".  Said KnightOwl.
I searched for 'Zero'.  Nothing  I DID see a profile for one 'Jack Cero'.  I replied to KnightOwl.  "It looks like it's pronounced Ser'-oh".
To which he responded "He's been around for a while."
I chose to not respond.

Several days later I got another 'inbox'.  The aforementioned Jack Cero.

Bingo.  Someone to mess with.

"You need to change your name.  I'm Zero." he typed.
I replied "It looks like it's pronounced Ser'-oh".
"I'm Zero.  I have been for a while.  My name's been in the media.  It's COPYRIGHTED".

I thought to myself, "What a bunch of crap.  You can't copyright the word zero.  It's a damn NUMBER."  So I argued with him, made a retaliatory post on my fake page, "Here I thought I was joining a community with values and morals, and all I get is 'I'm Zero.  Name in the media.  COPYRIGHTED'."  "That'll rile him up!", I thought.

And it did.

He and I traded punches, so to speak, about the name on a post or two.  I told him "You're making an awful big deal out of this aren't you?  After all, there's more than one STEVE in the world."  He told me it was not so much the name, but the respect.  Then his friends started in on me.  "Zero's my friend.  Change your name or I'll kick your ass!!"  WOW.  Cero never made any threats at me.  But his friends sure were.  I got several of these.  From different people.  All threatening me over a NAME.  I even read a post about stabbing my scrotum with an icepick.  "THESE PEOPLE ARE THE HEROES??"

Then I saw a comment from Jack.  "Ya know what?  Forget it.  Keep the name.  Enjoy it."

More threats from his friends.

"Guys, back off.  Leave it alone.  I'm not worried about this."

Zero called it quits.

He didn't stop being a RLSH, or X-Alt as I believe he preferres.  But he had the sense to not fight over something stupid like this.  He recognised (and, more importantly, EXERCISED) his ability to choose his battles.  Well done, Zero.

I have subsequently given up the page.  Changed the name.  (Still spying...  heheheh).

The lesson here is simple.

We ALL have the power to make choices.  Some of us will choose "hero", some will choose "villain".  Sometimes the lines get blurred.  But when stop making our OWN choices and start letting others make them FOR us; that's when we give up one of our most SACRED freedoms.  When we follow blindly ANY leader into the abyss, we begin losing freedoms one by one till they're gone.

ps.  I used Zero's name with his foreknowledge and permission.  And as far as I can tell, there are no hard feelings on either side of the fence.
